Normally you wouldn't need to do that, but if yours is really that floppy then it probably would be a good idea. I can't remember the site, but I've seen photos of a stripped one in which the builder welded in X-shaped braces in the door apertures and a diagonal brace from the upper rear corner to the opposite lower front corner of the passenger compartment.
It might be a good idea to take some measurements, too. If you've got a full version of the factory shop manual, you'll find there's a page listing key dimensions, so you can see how far off yours is.
There's an article on that other vintage SAAB website about rusty-floor restoration, but it sounds as if yours is a bit farther gone than that. Still, once you get the body off and remove the engine, fuel tank, etc., you'll have a pretty clear shot at just about all of the rust-prone spots.
