Definetly cross brace. Mine taco-ed when I took the body off. It was fussy getting it back into shape. I welded 1 in square tubing across the top of the door gaps, and then did a diagonal between the doors. Just for fun I also ran some supports down from the diagonal to the main horizontal beam on the floor that supports the seats. I welded it on...It'd be good to remove the gas tank before you did that though.
