Black oil could be well used. Sludge means no care but can also mean too
much short running.
Depends on the mileage of the car. The more worn the engine the quicker the
oil will darken. If someone sells a car with very clean oil it is suspect
(what are they hiding)>
On the original question, see if your car has a verifiable full service
history (and the only ones that matter are those from a SAAB main dealer).
