It sounds like you have another place where a wire is leaking voltage to
ground. This is the only reason a 'good' battery would discharge over night.
Charge or jump the the battery and it should start. If you had to patch the
battery cable it probally needs replacement. This would be the first place to
look. Any place where insulation is worn could be a problem. You can actually
measure voltage loss by putting a volt meter inline with the battery cable.
However, if you use a multimeter everything must be off because any major
discharge like trying to start the car could over load the meter and blow it.
A jack leg way to drive around and leave the car over night and not have the
battery go down is to disconnect the battery at night.
Many time battery terminals look clean, but are dirty. Make sure that you
have clean metal connections on the battery or the alternator won't be able
to recharge the battery.
There is a remote possibility you have another bad battery or starter. These
can checked in the traditional manner and should be under warranty unless you
replaced them with used ones. (They also may be under warranty) Anyhow check
the battery first and if you jump the car and the starter doesn't turn the
car over check wiring and then the starter it self.
Good luck and there is a logical reason or two for these problems.
