A stick SportWagon, the ultimate hatchback, and fairly rare to find a stick as the 9-5's Aisin Warner is so good.
Most agree the 9k's are sportier, most agree the 9-5 has more contemporary luxury features.
You sound like you might be an Aero kinda' guy, stiffer suspension and more horsepower, to mimick the sporty 9k more, but a 2.3lpt won't be too frustrating. You could always pump up and nail down a 2.3lpt on the aftermarket, or you could just hold out for an Aero.
For me a 9k has antiquated luxury features, ACC, stereo controls, trip computers, whereas a 9-5 is one of the most attractive layouts of all time with very contemporary features and functions.
A 9k may be sportier, but a 9-5 is more luxrious and a better competitor for the 5 series, E class, S80, A6 and such, and a 9-5 Aero is perhaps the sportiest Saab ever right there with the Viggen.
