the M35 is an awesome package, reminisent of Saabs past (9000's). It has huge interior space in a rather small body, and the feel of a sports sedan. It competes well with the world's great sedans (MB, BMW, Lexus)and offers ALL the newest techno toys. It stickered at $46k+, and leased for less than a $39k 9-5. Infiniti residuals are at an all time high.
The 3 is a sports car in a hatch body, reminiscent of the c900. It is tight, torquey and handles like it's on rails. I love driving it , but it's snug for me (6'2", 270#). At 22k sticker, it's a steal! My wife generally drives the 3.
Both cars require 3500 mile oil changes (Saabs did before all the engine failures), and that is absolutely it so far. I love the Mazda dealer for service, the Infiniti dealer...not so much.
Whether either of these cars will grow on me like the c900/9000 remains to be seen, but they are both excellent driving cars....not "appliances" as many here refer to Japanese cars.
Try them yourself.
