I appreciate the insight here, and it confirms what I've thought too.
However, I do not understand why some of us seem to want Saab to improve it's image to the point where they don't offer such good incentives. While it would be good for GM if Saab does so, that doesn't mean that it's good for *us*. Personally, I hope that they continue to bungle their marketing so that I can look forward to a $5000 discount, a $1000 loyalty incentive, and the experience of driving a wonderful car that is relatively rare.
Let the BMW guys pay top dollar and see themselves coming and going. I like the Saab status just the way it is right now ;-)
Short of unlikely spectre of Saab bankruptcy, am I missing something here?
