My question- What incentives? I was watching pricing on new saabs in my area (Long Island, N.Y.) since about Sept '01. The only thing I noticed was a long wait for the '02 model year, unless edmunds was late bringing out the information. I don't remember any cash back deals or lease deals. Are there deals available now?
My comment- It seems as though saab does depreciate from new faster than the average bear. "New SaabOwner" says they bought a '01 recently, I think that should be taken into account when you figure residual. If you buy a 2001 model year car in the 2002 model year, your car has depriciated that full year of value and you have paid "full" price. My car, which I purchased in December '01 is a 1999 9-5 se, in service since june 1999. I paid $21000 and it has 23000 miles. So what was my car worth when new, $39000? Two years and 6 months later its worth 21000 (edmunds valued the car at more than this). Thats $18000, that seems like a bunch of money.
In fact thats a good question, what did my car sell for when new?
The only thing I'm worried about now is years 3 through 6. I am thinking of getting a 2002 in 3 years. Or maybe the all new 2003 9-3?
