Never ran out of gas with that car. With my 04 Aero I have ran out of fuel and stalled when DTE said 59 miles to empty and the orange low level light not even on yet, gas gauge showed just under 1/4 tank, another time it happened with DTE of 70 miles left and 1/4 tank showing on gauge, again no orange light yet. Bottom line, when gauge gets to 1/4 you better be in sight of a gas station. The DTE is woefully inaccurate, DO NOT TRUST IT. Better yet, I like Adams idea - refuel at 1/3 tank. Screw the DTE in this car.
The fuel pump will fail at some point anyway, I am going to do a preemptive replacement at 120 k. So it doesn't leave me stranded somewhere at the worst possible time.
