Hopefully the receiver/dryer was replaced with the condenser. If the system's been open for even a few days in a humid environment the dryer can become saturated and will no longer be effective. Water vapor greatly reduces the efficiency of the system.
As long as the system's open I'd replace O-rings at the various joints as well as the TXP valve at the firewall. They're all cheap and fairly easy to do and will hopefully solve any small leaks. The TXP valve is also something that doesn't like sitting in a moist environment for long.
