We have a '00 9-5 GF Wagon. I notice more of a difference between brands more then octane ratings. They also are required to reformulate gas in areas where the air quality is poor such as the Baltimore/DC area. The porr car knocks terribly on any type of Citgo gas and has also knocked on Wawa gas (who knows where that comes from) I tend to put in mid grade to premium depending on the price which can vary greatly (.25 cents less if you get out of the balitimore area). I have never put in regular. Im kind of afraid to if it pings on the mid grades and even the premiums. My other car, a '89 900 SPG, requires premium so I just tend to gravitate to the premium pump when I pull into the station. Try some different brands until you find one that works. Then let me know what it is!
