The trunk lid on this 1990 Convertible clearly says TURBO and the owner told me the car has a recently rebuilt transmission, an automatic. I was operating under the assumption that all turbo models had manual boxes and it was the 900S models with their 2.1 litre engines that might have an automatic transmission.
Am I mistaken (high probability)? Or does it sound as if this car has seen a new trunklid, or emblems, or major power-train rework since new? Does the automatic on a Turbo model have an even shorter life expectancy than on a NA engine?
$700 asking price and the body is said to be rust free at 130K miles so it might still be worth a look.
