Exactly the first thing I noticed in your post too. Effective bleeding does not require any pedal pumping afterwards. I suspect that you have a defect in the system that's allowing air to be sucked in whenever the clutch is re-engaged. Inspect both hoses thoroughly and make sure all fittings are tight. It's certainly possible for new parts to be defective too.
