Thought I had a starter issue about 2 months ago. I had re-cleaned the grounding bolts at the frame near the radiator and the one going to the front (rear) of the engine ; and all starter wires. W/O doing the things I learned years back by trial and error (which I am going to tell you now), I put in a new starter. NO START! I then took the larger diameter insulated yellow wire with the black tip from the top of the ignition switched and pressed the connector to the grey wire next to it (Make sure key is in run position, car is out of gear or in park with hand brake on). Car started instantly. You can place the yellow wire onto its proper place and turn the key to off to stop the engine. Each time you want to start the car you can proceed this way until you get the ignition switch or the gear portion of the key mechanism. I have basis skills and have replaced key tumblers and gears before. I think I have a spare or 2 in the basement. I understand the neutral selection switch or what ever its called, being an issue, but there is an adjustment to that on the side of the shift mechanism and two torx type screws let you adjust that easily with the center console removed. Need that off to access top of switch anyway.
