Switching from regular to synthetic will not cause a leak, and switching back from synthetic to regular will not stop a leak.

Mobil 1 does recommend a couple of short interval oil changes if you have a buildup of sludge or deposits:

The oil change interval matters more than whether you use dino or synthetic. The rule of thumb is 3,000 mile changes with dino and 5,000 mile changes with synthetic. Change it faithfully, use a good filter, and don't worry about it.
Oh, and put in 5 quarts, which puts the oil level at about the "X" in "MAX" on the dipstick. That is above the full mark.
