sounds like mounting between washer and radiator might be the ticket. After installation, I noticed improved throttle response, maybe a bit more power and I believe my mileage increased also. Not sure by how much, as I didn't keep real accurate records. This was before other mods, so gap was maybe .035". These days, I seem to get about 21-23 mpg with mixed/ but mostly city driving. Over 30 mpg at normal highway speeds. This is actual consumption- my EDU reads high. I would guess I netted 5% or better in efficiency. That doesn't seem too bad. I use Magnecor wires-Jacobs are no better than stock Saab. Cap and rotor life might have been reduced a bit, but not drastically. With .040" of gap, your mileage should increase more than mine, if Jacobs hypothesis (or sales pitch) is correct. Jacobs claims for increases in performance are definitely inflated. This, and their sales methods, has prevented me from buying from them a second time around. Let us know how the installation and your results go! Good Luck!
