Peter, This excess oil issue isn't good. The price of 4 quarts of oil and a filter is cheap. An engine replacement isn't. I'd suggest Doing that before you start the car again. Doug and Dan have given you good advise. I wouldn't drive the car until the issue is resolved. Change the plugs. You could try unplugging the coldstart injector, and each injector one at a time as it is idling to diagnose for one of those being bad. That's not the only checks on those however, you could get lucky. Other than that, have it towed to a garage. best of luck
