Well I took it up to 4000 once mostly out of frustration.
Anyway, if I'm burning the excess oil, how does it get into the combustion chambers is my worry right now..
(If it's going back up the piston rings again, that sounds to me like the sump is indeed full and the pistons are splashing around in fuel/oil mix)
Thanks guys for the input, now I've got a number of things follow up.
(I'll check the plugs, drain some oil, check fuel pressure and then change the oil)
I've only have to find someone to check my fuel pressure.

The car looks great and the interior is in good shape. It was running fine just a couple of days ago so I'd really hate to lose it.
That said, I don't have the resources to do major engine work, so I have my fingers crossed here:-).
