I've been having a stumble on idle and low throttle positions on my newly acquired 2001 Viggen. It never does it on harder acceleration or high RPM. I started with plugs (had stock platinums, I put in BCPR7ES), checked DIC for damage or non-genuine version, cleaned the throttle body of deposits and electrical cleaner, poked at and replaced vacuum lines. None of this had any noticeable effect. I thought it was definitely the TB sensor so I ordered a new TB.
Today I replaced the battery since it was leaking and sulfating, and has significantly reduced capacity. On my test drive (about 30 minutes) the stumbling is gone! Can a weak battery cause these issues? Hopefully this keeps up.
In other news, I've picked up this Viggen and restoring and maintaining what I can. Now to find out where the oil is going. I'm losing about 1 quart every 1000 miles, which seems a bit high. Dropping the oil pan is on the list soon too.
