SAAB is about performance and uniqueness and the 9-7x Aero hit all of that. Why would "true" SAABers be repulsed by starting with a good SUV platform and then upgrading the suspension and dropping in a Corvette engine? Sounds like a collectible to me! And how they dressed it up made it look much nicer than the Trailblazer SS. BTW, for all of the GM haters, a lone wolf SAAB company likely will not be able to do something similar.
I too own a SAAB and a Suburban... so much for stereotypes and demographics :-) Both are unique vehicles. My 9-5 is an Aero and the Suburban is the rare 4x4/2500/8.1L engine with 4.10 rear axle combination in red with the LT trim and barn doors. After many years I still am impressed with its comfort, power, fit & finish, reliability, usefulness and presence.
