I like it quite a bit and would like it even more if I used it more frequently. Let me explain that cryptic remark.... The jack has a 3 position lever on the jack handle to designate "mode":
1. lift jackpad and ratchet it into position so when I lower the arms, the jackstand stays up
2. unlock the jackstand from the jack frame so I can pull the latter out while the former remains in position and I can proceed to capture the second jackstand for the other side of the car
3. lift the jackpad to unweight the ratchet lock, unlock the ratchet, and lower the car to the ground
The lever positions are not intuitive so it always takes me a couple of tries before I manage to keep the jackstand from lowering, for example. If I used the system more frequently, I'd get good at it but swapping summer/winter tires 2X a yr and occasional brake job isn't frequent enough for my feeble memory.... I suppose this is more a critique of myself than it is the design of the jack, which, as I mentioned before, is great!
