Well, it is like I was saying, both SAAB and Opel know how to engineer cars and GM took advantage of that. Since SAAB was and Opel is GM, then you can say GM makes some good cars. hah
It will be interesting if GM is brave enough to let Opel die. Remember they didn't sell it to Magna and one critical reason is because Opel is the true ground-zero for GM engineering right now. I'm afraid to say that most of what is done here at home by GM is rubbish. Who knows, maybe GM hopes they can lean on their Chinese and Korean technical centers. Doubt they will produce much appealing product though...
I'm pretty down on most modern cars too with SAAB sidelined at the moment. Not all hope is lost though, that new Alfa Romeo 4C sports car is the business. I've heard from someone with inside knowledge who has seen the new Alfa Romeo Giulia (D-segment) sport sedan that says the car is just a phenomenal design. Will be interesting to see the new Maserati Ghibli (E-segment) 5-series competitor too, though I'm certain the prices will be a bit high... The Italians are the last hope to save us from the automotive dark ages. Oh boy... LOL
