Back in the late 70s in my wilder driving days I worked for a lady who was kind of a scatter brain (I'm being kind) . On her ride home from work, which was partly my route - was a narrow bridge. She somehow managed to drive her car head on into the bridge abutment and at a high rate of speed. I happened upon the accident scene 15 minutes later and she was outside of the car and the Saab 900 was the classic picture of the front end destroyed but the driver's door completely intact.
I overheard her telling the police that her briefcase slipped off the passenger seat and she was reaching down to retrieve it. Yeah right.
I decided then given my driving habits it might make sense to invest in a Saab so I picked up a used 99.
