There are a lot of waxes that contain silicone in them (i.e. Meguires, etc.). They work well, however, silicones can and do get into the paint with repeated use and should you ever need a panel repainted, it can cause havoc for the painter. Silicone can get directly into the metal itself. You would be best advised to make sure the chemical make-up label does not contain the word silicone. Pure carnuba wax is ideal.
For what its worth, I use Turtle wax Emerald Series. It won't last more than two months, but, I apply it approximately every six weeks or so and I do use a liquid car wash soap and dilute it a little more than the label directs.
