There are places to speed and places not to speed. The Mass Pike can go either way, but is a solid revenue generator from speeding fines. I'm careful down there unless I have a good front door.

The idea is not to draw attention to yourself in the first place. I'll bet you didn't slow enough going by the cop. He took notice and followed up, figuring you thot he was busy writing paper.
I find being the only car on the road seems to make you more of a target than if there are a few cars out there. After all, the cop has to justify himself to his patrol chief, who knows there are lots of speeders.

I think a lot has to do with how you react when pulled over.
Anyway, try a ticket lawyer and good luck, but be aware the event may still show up on the computer system the cop logs into when he checks your license. And that system is national, BTW, as I was told when pulled over in Nevada for 88+ in a 65. (I didn't get a ticket.)
