fight a ticket even if they were the only one on the road and not posing a danger to anyone. It's a good money maker for the cops. I have a friend that got fed up with one ticket and he is having a laywer put the court date off as long as he can. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I think part of his strategy is to have a court time that is not convienient for the cop to make the court date so he wins.
If there was no speed law I can see some big problems with people going so fast when no one is on the road and then someone gets in his way and he can't stop and you have dead people.
I would like to see an Autobahn system here in the states but our roads are not designed for that and it would cost to much to make it so. The Autobaun was designed with grade and turn limits and it is much much thicker and smoother than our roads but they are having a lot of congestion now so it has become much slower.
I have heard that if you pay a Laywer enough you can get out of any speeding ticket. I heard a story from a DMV councelor that said DMV can't suspend this rich guys drivers liscense because he always fights it in court and wins. Unfortunately money talks in our legal system. I guess the ACLU hasn't time for all types of civil rights violations.
Best, KB.
