You can basically go up another stg with e85, its rated at 105 ocatane basically, so it allows more ignition timing and the chance of knock is greatly reduced. We often say that with E85, knock is no longer the limit, like it is with gasoline, the limit becomes cylinder pressure.
It would be screaming fast with E85 and cold temps, the only downside is they can be hard to start, kind of like a diesel in the cold winter mornings. One trick is to put in a gallon or two of gasoline in the mix to make early morning colds starts a breeze.
With t7 cars, 00 and later with tcs, you can run the flex fuel program where you can run e85, gasoline or any combination in-between :-)
Nathan Plum just did an E85 on his Viggen and was very happy with it, he posted about it here and posted the dyno slip. Everyone that has switched has done nothing but talk about how smooth the engine runs and how strong the power feels and it really pulls up top past 4500 much better than gasoline.
I know some people have gone to 320bhp with E85 on the 93SS 207R engine, but I have not pushed a viggen with a 19T and E85 hard with stock pistons. I do have some dyno sheets of Dallas's viggen with 19T and E85, we ended up making 310whp and 423wtrq or 356bhp and 480 ft-lbs, it was a screamin Demon, but we did put in Woessner forged pistons,
John
