Getting a Viggen for $15K would be too tempting for me to pass up, especially if in great shape, as I see them as the SPG's of today.
As for the OG900 SPG, putting the $2,500 into it isn't al that bad 'IF' you drove it for a year to get some use of it, and then sold it for say $2,000. That would mean you'd have spent $500 to keep and enjoy it for a year. Not a bad idea, and at the same time you could have the Viggen stashed away, maybe just driven on weekends and such. Again, with the resolve to sell the SPG in about a year.
THe other option I see is of course, still gettign the Viggen as above. Only here you don't repair the SPG or spend the $2,500 to fix it. instead, you part it out, if you have a place and the time to do so. Considering how many folks out there are restoring these cars (saab nuts anyway) you'll sale the parts in short order, and make more money than what the car's currently worth, considering it's not running at this time.
Either way, get the Viggen.
See Ya,
Phil
