I feel your pain about the blind spots. I drive a 2.0T, after driving a Grand Prix for 7 years. The blind spots in the 2.0T worried me. However, I've been driving it now for 2-3 days and am really getting used to it. Plus, on the 2.0T you *can* look over your shoulder and see cars, it's just differently oriented than your prior car.
Go to a parking lot and park next to a car, then roll forward & back, and adjust your rearview & side mirrors. I really reduced my blind spots plus, got more confidence in how my mirrors were oriented.
Also, about the Aero vs. 2.0T, I know that there's a small gap between a 2.0T with sunroof / premium package and a manual Aero, but I wasn't able to find a manual Aero at the St. Louis dealership.
