If you want about 3 mpg better, go with the base 2.0 T. It is a more proven powertrain combination in the Saab as the V6 is in its first year in a Saab so there might be some teething issues. (Search the board about these). I agree that the power and handling is more than sufficient compared to the Aero. Also the 2.0 T doesn't have the controversial exhaust noise while at highway speeds. You will miss out on the lowered suspension and better seats as well as the aluminum look trim if you like that. You also wouldn't get the free Aero Academy session. You would have to buy the upgraded stereo. With rebates though, the price might not be that different.

I bought used 17" wheels from a 2004 9-3 Aero and they look great on my 9-3 SC. You can see them in my gallery.
