For the 06 SAAB 93 Wagon
P0606....only indicates you are in the LIMP HOME mode...SAAB WIS...not ECU failure necessarily...other manufacturer PO606 would say the ECU is dead, may not be in SAAB P0606 terms
P1861. ...only means the ECU has lost the sensor #2 throttle housing input signal which triggers limp home....WIS describes input as pulses but it is not but its a constant DC voltage from sensor (potentiometer).... need to check if continuous voltage input from sensor #2 is there at ECU but not read internally by ECU. (Pin #25 of ECU Connector "B", blue/White wire) Top connector cover is can be removed to use pin to check voltage while plug is connected.
There are a couple of fuses, connectors, relays, throttle housing, wire slice points to check before concluding its a ECU....new/used ECU may not solve the problem
Had similar problem on my 06 Sedan (sensor #2 and throttle signal), was dirty connector after checking the above, took some time time with a voltmeter but no $ ...basic information and needed wiring diagram was buried in WIS information but is there.
