Passenger Seatbelt Indicator Posted by iveand [Email] (#3155) [Profile/Gallery] (more from iveand) on Sat, 20 May 2023 07:52:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have the annoying issue of the passenger seatbelt indicator (almost) always on. The passenger airbag enable / disable works correctly (only enabled when a passenger in the seat), but the seatbelt indicator seems to not use the same logic to determine if someone is sitting in it.
In Tech2 I have adjusted the setting so it only shows the indicator (doesn't chime), but it would be preferable to not have the SID always blocked by this indicator taking up all the space.
I read in older threads that the sensor is too close to the top of the seat and is triggered sometimes by a warm interior. This isn't the case for me, even in a cool garage it is illuminated. But my SC being a 2006 it seems to match the year that other complaints are from.
Is there a way to disable it, or bypass it? Trust me I always make sure the passenger is belted before driving :-)
