I just had the balance shaft chain guides and tensioner replaced on my 2004 9-3 convertible 2.0 after about 70K miles. They were actually broken and my Saab master tech indy noticed it from driving, although I did not. He said the timing chain guides and tensioner were fine and usually last longer. It also involved getting the bits out of the oil sump. Is this something to look out for on these older 9-3s?
