Thanks Bernie. That’s very interesting because I didn’t expect to replace the guides and tensioner at that mileage. The car has had several past owners so I don’t know the entire history. But it is in very good condition for being almost 20 years old, like it has been well maintained. Things can happen though and a manual can be driven in a different way than an automatic. As you say, the timing was off also and that slight vibration tipped off my Indy, even before he heard the loose chain under the hood. But all is well that ends well and it will be driven with care now. It’s a great car to drive and is different from the 9-5s I have driven over 30 years, but in a good way.
