Yes I am certainly considering that option. I'm hoping to avoid anything requiring a Tech II to marry used parts. AMP1 doesn't seem to require that, but the cd changer might (?). Did you replace with a used six cd changer within the past few years or a long time ago? I'm thinking with the age on these there will begin to be higher failure rate. The cd's not ejecting is also supposedly a broken piece of plastic internally that people have repaired using epoxy. I'd be a little hesitant getting a used AMP1 because by now most will be at least a little rusty. Saw posts which seemed to indicate those are like 50/50 hit or miss. But hey if a used one works it might last a number of years. I'll also check out the repair guy Wasyl Zadorozny in NY as he has a good reputation on this site.
