GM does not keep old parts in stock. Parts sitting on a shelf = capital tied up in dust. GM is moving out all the old parts (notice all the Sale items for 9000 on the Saab website?) to free up capital. GM is in the business of selling new cars. If there are no parts for your old car, you buy a new one... ergo new car sales. Yes GM is eliminating parts, but at the risk of lowering resale values - well look at the rsale of a Saab anyway! Now if someone wants to become the Moss Motors of Saab, I am sure Saab would be happy to sell you all the old parts at any price above the tax write off value for dumping them.
