Let's say I need to put 3500 into the car to get it back to where it needs to be and I can get into a lease for 350 a month plus get 3500 on trade for the vehicle (just using round numbers here). Havent I effectively come out better with deferring the payment for two years? Current repairs = $3500 = 10 lease months
Trade in of car = $3500 = 10 lease months
No maint costs on new lease plus rather than pay the large one time cost to fix the car I effectively carry it over 10 months?
And yes I am trying to rationalize getting into a new car......
