First, I just wanted to let you know that I am sorry and I can relate to your sick feeling. I am in Charlotte and I went through this with my Aero last spring.(and it was at your dealership in greensboro that the engine swap was performed.) I am more than capable of doing this kind of work myself, but this was a warranty job and the dealership is supposed to be the most capable. Right? WRONG!
The first thing you need to do is get your car towed out of Flow motors and into the hands of someone that can first change spark plugs, let alone assemble/swap engines. They have absolutely no right to have a Saab franchise. It took them 3 MONTHS to swap the shortblock in. When I finally picked it up, the car was making a lot of strange noises, which the service manager assured me would quiet down with miles. I knew better being a tech myself, but I ininitialy took them for their word and headed back to Charlotte. Half way home I pulled over to check things out. The DI bolts were missing, a hose was laying across the intake, the throttle body cover was missing and the serpentine belt was half off! I pulled the DI off just to check to see if they used new plugs(they didn't) and guess what? Three of the plugs were backed completely out! Mind you this was only 40 miles from the shop after delivery. A week after all of this was repaired (by me) I started to notice an oil drip on the ground. After taking everything apart I discovered that the crankshaft pulley bolt was being held on by three turns of your FINGERS!! This is suposed to have 170lbs ft. on it, and should have damaged the woodruff key on the crank. I was furious. They supposedly checked the car over again over the course of a week and all was fine until the alternator blew a week later. The "Saab dealer" never reinstalled the main ground strap to the transmission! This isn't even the half of it, but I don't want to rant here for ever. I haven't even touched on the head gasket job they did.
Pursue the warranty claim, but if all else fails, Call Goldwing and get a price on a used motor. Take it to the dealership in Durham (right off of 15/501) or Tom Townsend in Greensboro, or Swedish Garage here in Charlotte. feel free to E-mail me and I can tell you alot more about Flow Morons in Greensboro. If the warranty does come through, have it done anywhere but Greensboro. Sorry for the long post.
