First of all - is there no way to slavage the engine you have via cleaning?
Just because the oil pressure light is on and there is sludge, doesn't mean that the engine is toast.
My NG900 was sludged at 94K ( Bought off of ebay -my mistake), and I put about $1200 into it via dropping the oil pan and removing the timing chain cover etc and having the engine cleaned.
I then ran BG MOA for 15K miles with oil changes every 2K. My car is up to 132K mikes now and runs fine.
I could have done more serious flushing with Auto-Rx or other solvents but didn't.
If you have the ability to drop the oil pan yourself and clean the oil pump intake screen then you may be able manage your way of this mess and de-sludge your engine.
I would try this first - (if you can't get a new engine from Saab) - because you can always put in a new engine later.
The guy below who suggested getting your bank invloved had a great idea too.
