My car was built in October of 1999 making it nearly 7 years old. It seems as if this is a new issue that is becoming very common with 1999 thru 2001 year cars. At least we have a choice of trying the D-I-Y repair. Starting with chasis number 13029216-- the owner has to buy the $300 replacement siren since these cars came with a fully sealed unit.
I still don't know if I was successful with my repair, the board got very warm near the solder dots and one battery fell off three times before I learned I had to secure them with more than just solder!
