Saab says no steel rims

There's a TSB or something from Saab that states not to use steel rims due to wheel hub corrosion, and they now only recommend alloy rims for winter use. I didn't know that when I go the 15" steel rims I use in the winter (with 205/65/R15 Nokian RSI), so I am diligent about cleaning the wheel hubs and applying a layer of waterproof molybdenum grease on the hub. No corrosion problems so far, but when I transition to 17" summer rims in a year or two my 16" alloys will become my winter wheels.
There's a tradeoff between ultimate snow/ice traction and wet/dry handling when selecting winter tires. I've concluded that my Nokian RSI snow tires are overkill for Boston area winters (let's not discuss my excessive tire wear this warm winter, oy), and next time will get something like the Dunlop M3 or the Continental TS810 "performance winter" type tire.
The Nokian tires are terrific but pricey. The Michelin X-Ice seems to be pretty comparable to the RSI and is cheaper.
