...the V-6 in the 9-5's is sub-par at best. Some would argue and say that you don't see the sludging problems in the V-6 like you do with the 2.3 liter engines, but you will have a whole host of other problems. Honestly your best bet is to find a 9-5 Aero Wagon. You'll have more power, better handling, and the Aero's have less problems with sludging, in addition to a bigger turbo which also seems to be less prone to issues. Make note that the V-6 also has a very small turbo that is only charged by 3 cylinders, and it really doesn't help that much at all. Anyone in the SAAB tuning community (myself included here) will tell you that the V-6 can't take being tuned as it's just not built well. The 2.3 liter is a rock solid engine and this is one case in the car world where the 4-cylinder is indeed a better engine than the comparable V-6. Remember with SAABs frequent oil changes are key! Every 3K-4K with FULL synthetic (Mobil1 preferred) and you should be golden. Good luck and cheers!
