When I drove a 9-5 with the V-6 a while back it just had no power. In fact, the acceleration was not even on par with my 9000CSE that I had way back. Since the CSE I have had Aeros and will not go back to a lower model for that reason. Even the 9-5 Aero in stock form cannot keep up with the G35's and TL's anymore in HP or handling; torque in the sweet spot it pretty good, but it needs tuning to realize the 2.3 to it's full potential. You can't get respectable numbers out of the V-6 even with tuning so it's not my bag. We all have different goals with these cars; for example Mike Lynch sold SAABs for years and doesn't believe in changing a thing from the factory. I for one don't like getting outpaced when changing lanes by a Nissan Altima. All the imports and Europeans are upping the stakes. It's time for SAAB to get a contender in there. The NEW 2.8 V-6 shows a lot of potential, and I for one am looking forward to seeing what the tuning market does with the engine and also what the longevity of the engine turns out to be. Until then happy SAABing to you guys and I'll stay over on the SAAB 9-5 performance board on SC where I belong. :) Cheers.
