I had duralast pads on my car for about 6 mo. and had two pretty big accidents that convinced me to NEVER own a set of duralasts again. The first one I had to do an emergency breaking after somebody cut me off, and stopped in front of me. the breaks performed so poorly, that I ended up in the middle of the intersection and was hit by another car. In the second one I breaked to go around a corner, the front breaks (duralast) were worthless, and only the back breaks did any work, and because of that the car was thrown into a spin (i was only going 40, but had to slow down to 20 to take it..) and ended up on the side of the road (thankfully I was able to stear it away from the concret barriers....
If they are cold they don't work very well, and if they get hot it is like breaking with butter, not brake pads... so hopefully you'll never have to do emergency breaking while you have them...
