Mike, I know you sell Saabs and are a big promoter of the cars. I'm on my fifth Saab but the our '01 9-5 Sportwagon has been a real dog when it comes to cupping tires. I've tried frequent balancing, replacing bushings, closely monitoring tire pressure, adding bilsteins on the rear, and recently adding .3mm shims on the rear. Hopefully the shims will make the difference along with the Pilot Exaltos. No other Saab (99, two 9Ks, and a 9-3) have had any problem with tire cupping but the 9-5 has. You should feel very lucky that you have no problem, particularly if you don't rotate tires. I tried not rotating on a front wheel drive car years ago and just ended up with square rear tires.
Oh, and BTW, the 9-5 at 93K may be our last Saab... (although I have three now).
