Many current cars will never have the technical wizardly of a 9-5. I was just admiring the dash in my 2000 9-5 and trying to think of a car that is as complete, well organized, impressive and almost itimidating (like an airplane cockpit) in it's magnitude. A strippee Saab anything still has more bells and whistles than the finest Subaru.
Chassis and suspension wise a 9-5 is also still very good comparatively. One could gripe about a little coarseness in the turbo four down low, but that's also part of the charm of having a unique, efficient powertrain.
