I sold my trusty 9000T when it was hitting almost 200K miles and the rust and major systems (AC, motor & tranny mounts...) were starting to go. I bought an '01 9-5 Aero sedan, CPO. While the hatch of the 9000T is sorely missed, I really like the Aero's better suspension, better handling, more power and overall more solid feel. The too-low front spoiler is just something I have to deal with. The 5-speed is a pleasure to drive.
We're also on our 2nd 9-5 wagon; the first (Linear, but loaded, 2000) was recently destroyed by an elderly driver while we were stopped at a light. It was a fun car to drive, but the suspension was way too soft for me. Our "new" 9-5 Arc wagon (2004) has better suspension and more power. In Sport mode, the auto tranny has plenty of "oomph", but it's not the same as the rocket-like response of the Aero. The paddle-shifters are a waste of time, IMHO. The amount of storage space in the wagons is cavernous!
Looking back, the 9000T left me stranded lots of times: shifter linkage, starter, water pump, fuel pump, etc. It was always needing something fixed, even when it had relatively few miles on it. Knock on wood, the 9-5 Aero has needed almost nothing over 3 years save for light bulbs and a trunk wiring harness.
