Allan is right - the ventilated seats have perforated leather - AND - a set of thumbwheels (left and right) with little seat icons (a seat with a fan) in the spaces next to where the heated seat switches are located. When you turn on the vented seats with these controls, you hear the (fairly loud IMHO) seat fans and feel the air moving out of the perf holes.
We had these on our 2000 9-5 Linear wagon, and although my spouse thought they were great to use on very hot days, I always found the fan noise a bit loud and distracting, and never really used them for that reason.
As others have noted, the Aero's have stiffer suspensions and you can take turns at higher speeds without noticeable "lean" than with a Linear. But otherwise, no real difference in comfort, I think: both versions are extremely comfortable cars, and you can drive for hours and not feel really beat, physically, when you get out.
