Ok, the saab having a torquier engine has the ability to pull from lower rpms in gear, similar to a larger displacement motor.
Does the auto seem to kick down allot? or does the computer allow the motor to work?
My experience with towing with a 9000 aero is you can leave it in 5th 99% of the time and allow the motor to work. I would be afraid that the auto would be shifting all the time, which would cause premature failure. Dont tow allot probably like 3000 miles in trips a year with a 6x10 vnose, about 2500lbs total.
Is there a way to lock it in gear with the autos? If you are in paddle mode on an 03, would it stay in 5th, or would it override and shift down?
I had thought that an auto would be better, but the wife wanted a stick...
