It's my wife's car and also the family hauler for vacations. It does not have the same punch as my '96 9000 CSE but is still a fine car. Very comfortable and has been quite reliable in the two years we've had it. I like some things about my 9000 better, but I'd buy another 9-5 Linear without hesitation if I had to replace my 9000.
Unless you really "need" the power and sharper handling of the Aero, a Linear will be fine. I find that in Sport mode on the 5 speed automatic it is pretty repsonsive, and on back roads it is a fun car to drive fast. Very good highway cruiser (32 mpg at 75 mph, fully loaded) on long trips.
Just try to get one with a known service history (good idea with any car), especially oil changes. Get the PCV#6 mod done and run synthetic oil with 5K mile changes.
